Jody Merritt, PMP

Principal

Ms. Jody Merritt, is a Principal at Woden LLC. She has both depth and breadth of expertise in government and industry roles impacting organizations’ bottom lines and individual success along the way. Ms. Merritt has an empowering leadership style to enable companies to seize market share they were unaware was available to them. 

Ms. Merritt is a results oriented corporate executive with technical background in space systems, cyber, and data analytics.  She has established and executed business strategies for new market entry of both large and small companies, including startups.  She also worked in multiple roles, to include Program Management, Systems Engineering, and Capture/Proposal Management on hardware and software development and delivery programs within the defense industrial base.  Her experience extends to NASA, DoD, and the Intelligence Community and includes profit and loss management, strategic planning, process improvement, engineering, and technical management.  Ms. Merritt also has international commercial management and consulting experience.

Prior to Wōden, Ms. Merritt was the Space Program Lead for the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force (Acquisitions) within the Office of Transformational Innovation.  She developed strategy, planned then executed innovative acquisition programs for the DoD Space Community.  In this role she established processes and mechanisms for disruptive, current and future technology ingest across multiple AF missions leveraging Other Transaction Authority.  Prior to this, she led strategy and business model development for the DoD Innovation Unit Startup - DIUx. She built then executed DIUx’s Joint Space Strategy, which included defining themes, projects, and skills then executing initial activities involving ~75 Department of Defense employees and leaders from >90 companies.

Ms. Merritt is a citizen airman and serves in the US Air Force Reserves as the Mobilization Assistant to the Commander, Space and Missile Systems Center, Los Angeles AFB, CA.
